The materials for linguists emphasize reading whereas the topics of focus for vocabulary, exercises, and podcasts include historical and comparative linguistics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. Many of these materials have already been developed by sources external to the center and a list of links is provided for further study.
The beginning level includes an overview of basic grammar topics and exercises that provide practice for reading comprehension and translation. Vocabulary is not emphasized, and the use of a dictionary is strongly encouraged. At the intermediate and advanced levels, more complex grammar and exceptions to the rules are coupled with exercises that further improve reading comprehension and translation. Some of the exercises include excerpts from linguistic treatises, papers, and books, all in original Macedonian.
Some of the materials are accessible only to subscribers. To learn more about getting full access to the materials and exercises on our website, click here.
