Feminine nouns in Macedonian commonly end in:
- -a, or
- a consonant.
To make feminine nouns plural,
- for the first group above, change the -a to -и;
- for the second group above, add -и.
Note that if a -j precedes the final -a in the first group above, the -j disappears in the plural. Two common exceptions that you have to memorize are: нога 'leg, foot', which is нозе in the plural, and рака 'hand, arm', which is раце in the plural.
