The months in Macedonian follow the same order as in English, i.e. the first month is јануари 'January', and the last month is декември 'December.' They are only capitalized when they begin a sentence.
In Macedonian, when you write a date, the order is numeral for the day, numeral (or name) for the month, numeral for the year (two digits or four digits). The numeral for the month is usually written in roman numerals. For example:
- 21.V.2000 - The 21st of May, 2000
- 31.XII.2011 - The 31st of December, 2011
